About Crossway Church

Crossway Church is “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” (Eph 2:20)

Our Vision

We “prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up in love as each part does its work”. (Eph 4:12,16b)

Our Mission

To love God, to love His people and to show His love to the lost in the community and abroad.

We Believe

These are our core beliefs:

Preaching / Teaching

The Word of God is the most important aspect of the Ministry as the whole Ministry is built on God’s Word.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Prayer

The Lord Jesus Christ is our Advocate with the Father and our High Priest therefore we can come boldly before the throne of grace and make our requests known to Him corporately. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the church and therefore we must ask Him for wisdom, guidance and strength to lead His church.

Isaiah 56:7 “For my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”

Worship

Worship affords us the opportunity corporately to glorify and praise God because He is worthy of our praise, honour and love. Worship leads us to the throne of grace, it opens our spiritual ears and eyes so that we can hear and understand God’s Word.

Psalm 95:1-2 reads, “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.”

Life Groups

We would encourage believers to be part of a life group where they can build good relationships, care for one another, be equipped to minister to each other and together learn the truths of God’s word.

Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Ministry of Care / Love / Compassion

Jesus did not only take care of people’s spiritual needs He also took care of their physical needs and He expects us to follow His example therefore we must take care of those within the body and outside of the body as the Lord leads us.

Matthew 25:34-36 reads, “Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take your inheritance, the Kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Evangelism / Missions

Jesus did not ask us to spread the gospel – He commanded us. Therefore we must obey our Lord and share the good news both locally and internationally.

Matthew 28:19-20 reads, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
